Venerdì 14 dicembre abbiamo fatto l’olio. Per prima cosa abbiamo lavato le olive,poi le abbiamo snocciolate con lo snocciolatore. Con il frullatore abbiamo frullato le olive già snocciolate, poi abbiamo preso dei sacchetti di iuta, con dentro la pasta di olive ottenuta, e li abbiamo messi in un torchietto per separare la sansa dai liquidi. La sansa è rimasta nei sacchetti e i liquidi sono stati messi a decantare.

On Friday 14th December we made the oil at school. As first thing we washed the olives, then we left the olive stones using a provided tool. With a blender we blended the olives already without olive stones, then we took some little jute bags, with the obtained olive paste inside, and we put them in a press to decant the husk from the liquids. The husk remained in the bags and the liquid were kept to decant.

La nostra “estrazione dell’olio” comincia: si svuotano i sacchetti delle olive nella vasca di lavaggio. Our “oil extraction” starts: we empty the olives bags in the wash basin.

Si versa l’acqua nella vaschetta… We pour on water in the wash basin …

Non avendo la possibilità di frantumare i noccioli si è deciso di denocciolare le olive. Si comincia! As we haven’t the possibility to crush the olive-stones, we decide to leave them. We start!

Si è deciso di utilizzare dei denocciolatori da cucina. Ognuno usa il suo. We decided to use some kitchen tools to leave olive-stones. Everyone uses his own.

Con un frullatore,al posto della pressa e della gramolatrice,ci si prepara a trasformare in poltiglia le olive denocciolate. With a blender,instead of the press and the gramolatrice,we get ready to turn in paste the olives without stones.

Adesso dobbiamo versare la pasta di olive in un sacchetto di stoffa che sostituirà i fiscoli o i diagrammi, ma, prima, lo bagniamo per farlo funzionare meglio. Now we have to put the olive paste into a little cloth bag that will supply the”fiscoli” or diaphragms, but, before all, we wet it to let it work well.

Il sacchetto pieno di pasta va pressato con un torchietto, al posto della pressa idraulica, per far uscire l’olio.La squadra pressatori si prepara. The little bag full of paste must be pressed with a little press, instead of the hydraulic press, to let the oil overflow.The press team gets ready.

Il sacchetto non funziona bene: le maglie troppo fitte non fanno passare il liquido, perciò, oltre alla pressa, usiamo anche le mani. The little bag doesn’t work well: the too tight stitches don’t let the liquid filter, so we also use our hands.

L’OLIO MISTO AD ACQUA E AD ALTRE IMPURITÀ È MOLTO DENSO,PER SEPARARLO AVREMMO BISOGNO DI UNA CENTRIFUGA, MA NON AVENDO ALTRI MEZZI, LO METTIAMO A DECANTARE IN UN CONTENITORE DI VETRO. THE OIL MIXED TO WATER AND TO OTHER IMPURITIES IS VERY THICK, TO SEPARATE IT WE WOULD NEED A CENTRIFUGE, BUT NOT HAVING OTHER TOOLS, WE PUT IT TO DECANT IN A GLASSED CONTAINER.

Le vaschette unte vanno sgrassate bene con un detergente apposito. The oily containers must be cleaned well with a provided detergent.
