Project of sewage system optimisation of the City of Koprivnica

City of Koprivnica ► Centre of Koprivnica-Križevci county ► inhabitants ► Relatively big industrial companies - Podravka, Carlsberg, Hartman, Danica, Belupo

Existing state of the sewage system of the City of Koprivnica ► Beginnings of system construction 100 years ago ► Today’s situation: km of sewage system network - 5 re-pump stations - 21 km of main collectors - main accumulating collector (2,5 km) - Chemical – biological plant for waste water treatment ► System management – GKP Komunalac Koprivnica

System expansion dynamics ► Last 5 – 6 years: - intensive construction (cca 8-12 km of new or re- constructed sewage) - annual investments of the city: cca 1-2 mil. € for sewage network ( construction and reconstruction) - construction of main accumulating collector receiving all waste waters from the city area - construction of biological waste water treatment plant

Problems of existing system ► Intensive expansion and reconstruction of the network ► Within construction and reconstruction of the network problem area of the system in construction area was assessed ► Partial network expansion and system interventions

Why sewage system optimisation? ► Major preconditions for system completion sre created (main accumulating collector and chemical-biological treatment plant) ► Continuation of network expansion and reconstruction is planned in the same intensity. ► Evaluation of the existing system and elaboration of guidelines for dynamics and technical aspects for further investments in the system are needed

Objectives of sewage system optimisation project ► Defining technical parameters of existing situation ► Elaboration of data bases ► Defining drawbacks of the existing system ► Defining needs and priorities for interventions on the existing system

► Analysis and proposal of preliminary concept for further network expansion ► Defining technical parameters of further expansion of the system ► Elaboration of optimum sequence of network expansion

Expected benefits and results ► Systemized and optimized access to future interventions on network and network expansion ► Optimisation of future investments ► Improved solution of system completion and work ► Improved management of the system and of water protection scheme
