SOA’s new ocean data assimilation system SOA’s National Marine Environmental Forecast Center (NMEFC) will start an operational ocean analysis system later August, The main features of system are Domain: Tropic Pacific Input data: altimetry, XBT and Argo Data assimilation scheme: 3DVAR, multivariate (T and S) OGCM: 1 by 2 degree and 14 layers Product: 3D T, S, U, V; period: 2001-now Availability of the product: will be available soon from internet This NMEFC operation system was originally developed by the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP), Chinese Academy. Through a two-year phase of transit, NMEFC and IAP collaborated and put it into operation.
