HOW DID THE PILGRIMS GET TO AMERICA  The pilgrims came on a ship called the Mayflower  They left Plymouth England on September 16, 1620  They arrived in America on November 21, 1620

THE PILGRIMS MADE A LIFE IN PLYMOUTH  They worked hard to survive but they had a hard time growing food  Winter was very hard for the pilgrims  Many of the pilgrims died

THE INDIANS HELPED THE PILGRIMS  An Indian named Samoset visited the pilgrims  Samoset brought a friend named Squanto  Squanto helped the pilgrims  Suanto taght the pilgrims how to grow corn and other crops

THE FIRST THANKSGIVING  The pilgrims grew lots of food  Governor Bradford proclaimed a day of Thanksgiving  Squanto and the Wampanoug Indians were invited  Everyone shared and gave thanks for the good food
