Five-minute speech You should prepare a short speech that could be modified for various situations that you may encounter while you are in Japan. JMOCS participants will be giving a speech as part of your morning briefs. For CI participants, you may need a speech for various events you will attend. Prepare the speech so it covers the following topics. Use my example as a guide. Do not just recopy it with your information. You should personalize it!. If there is something you don’t know how to say, write it in English and we will help you. A draft is due 4/8 as an attachment to both Zimmerman 先 生 and Yu 先生. Being modest In Japan, you should deflect compliments, whether they are about you or your family. While this may seem odd at first, it is their custom.
