Supports desktop, mobile and Web applications.  ArcGIS Viewer for Flex Ready to use Web mapping application. Built on the ArcGIS API for Flex. Configurable through XML files – can be customized and deployed without programming. Functionality is defined by code blocks called widgets. New functionality can be created by developing custom widgets. Several custom or modified widgets are available from the Esri user community in the Code Gallery. “There’s a widget for that” Custom widget development does require a development environment such as Adobe Flash Builder 4.

Conclusion  ArcGIS browser for Flex is a quick and easy way to get started with Web GIS.  No software needs to be installed on the client.  Intuitive user interface that requires very little training.  Integrates multiple data sources and applications from inside and outside of the firewall.  Reduce need for additional specialized software licenses to view data. 
