 Who should be able to access which data?  Three types of users  Common user  GRBMP members  GRBMP thematic group leaders  Three types of access  Existence  Viewing  Downloading  Higher access type implies lower types  Downloading enables viewing, etc.

 For each piece of data, there is essentially a vector of access control  Each element is for a particular user  Value determines the highest access  Whole access control is thus a matrix User 1…User n Data 1V-E …DDD Data mVVV

 Users can be grouped  Thematic groups specify one type of groups  A user can create her own group  Access control rights for a data can be defined for a group
