Re-Defining Literacy… Reading and writing were the original definitions of literacy. However, due to the advance in technology over the years, literacy is now more along the lines of applying what is learned from reading, writing, and technology as well.

Technological Literacy is… The ability to effectively use and manage technology to improve dynamic learning and promote success.

Ways to Teach Technological Literacy Incorporate up-to-date technology in all curriculum and subject areas by: UUsing software, programs, and online resources to teach PPresident Clinton's 4 "pillars" of technological literacy Allow students to look for their own information and research from reliable sources such as: DDatabases LLibraries OOfficial documents IInternet articles

Informational Literacy is… The ability to effectively evaluate and organize information from several different sources. TThis is important in the classroom because there are so many places to obtain information other than from a teacher or textbook nowadays (i.e. web pages, television, etc).
