Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) Established In 2006 by Abu Dhabi Government Emiri Decree to: To be the Port Authority in Abu Dhabi Emirate Own, operate, maintain, manage and develop all port related facilities in Abu Dhabi (excluding Oil & Gas and military) Develop, manage and operate industrial, commercial & services zones Objective: To work in line with Abu Dhabi’s long term economic vision for Abu Dhabi 2030 and Al Gharbia 2030

Abu Dhabi – Economic Indicators Abu Dhabi is the largest and most affluent Emirate in the UAE. Transport Infrastructure Development (1) ABU DHABI Economic Vision 2030 ‘’ Abu Dhabi to ensure enough capacity at its Air and Sea Ports to strengthen its position as centre of international trade’’ AIR Abu Dhabi International Airport (Etihad national carrier) Around 30 m passenger/year by 2030 SEA Main port moving from Mina Zayed to Khalifa Port at Al-Taweelah Khalifa Port will have excellent infrastructure and enough capacity for the anticipated trade growth Khalifa Port will be linked to major regional cities and industrial zones via efficient road and rail networks

Mina Zayed Port (1) Built in 1972 510 hectares 21 berths Total berth length 4,375 meters Over 143,000 m2 of covered warehousing space Cold storage facilities with a capacity of 20,000 tons Transfer of Mina Zayed operations to Khalifa Port by end 2012 Due to increase in Port operations & limited scope for further expansion, relocation to a more strategic place is a necessity. Moving sea freight to Khalifa Port will allow for further growth for Abu Dhabi city.

Musaffah Channel Channel Relocation Project Channel length : 63 Km. Dredged to: 9m draft 200m width 65 Million cbm dredged Cost : AED1.5 billion (US$411 M) Completion : 30th June 2010 Usage: to service existing and future clients in Musaffah and ICAD industrial areas

KPIZ Mina Zayed Khalifa Port and Industrial Zone (KPIZ)- Location JAFZA Al Maktoom Airport KPIZ Mina Zayed Strategically located midway between the cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai Approximately 30 kilometers from both Abu Dhabi International Airport and the proposed Jebel Ali Airport Abu Dhabi Airport

Protecting Coral Reefs – Actions Taken Circulation of water Extension of cause way to clear the port activities from corals. Environmental Breakwater at a construction cost of AED 825 Million. Assigned expert scientists from Nova University in Florida-USA, to regularly inspect and monitor the corals. ADPC to provide a regular report to Environment Agency of Abu Dhabi.
