Introductions Student Information Sheet Syllabus Worksheet Group Music Integration Units Kodaly Method Introduction PRAXIS II Post-test

Student Information Sheet Please fill out the Student Information Sheet You need an MSU-B student account (professional) and access to Desire to Learn (D2L). Please use the MSU-B account when ing me (don’t use your private ones)

Syllabus Worksheet I am amazed at the number of students who don’t read the syllabus (although I sympathize with the length). You should have followed the brief orientation to the syllabus today. Now please fill out the syllabus worksheet so I know there is no miscommunication regarding the expectations of this course. You can access my course electronic syllabus at Click on Courses and then on EDU 397I Click on Courses and then on EDU 397I

Group Music Integration Units A good music teacher is aware of the district’s curriculum and integrates that with his/her music program. You will work in a group to complete a Group Music Integration Unit.

Kodaly Gordon Method – traditional (1 and 2 and…) Kodaly – (ta, ti ti, etc.) We will be making practice sheets for each other to use in future classrooms. You will be responsible for contributing to each worksheet.

FOR NEXT CLASS: You need to purchase the textbook; we will use it in almost every class. You need to get an MSU-B student account if you don’t already have one. You will receive an from me this week…please reply so that I know we are “connected.” We will be using D2L on the MSU-B server (only this class can get into the folder)...please check that you can access this. Instructions are on my electronic syllabus ( See you Tuesday!

“I think music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.” Billy Joel
