Magnetic measurements of MICE target stator Ben Shepherd MICE target meeting 11 October 2010

Further measurements of B2 centre Repeated measurements of longitudinal field B2(x,y) to find minimum on magnetic axis Approximate offsets: x = -0.4mm; y = 0.2mm

Probe offset An additional complication: the probe has a cross-hair on the end but this may not mark the position of all three Hall plates Flipped the probe through 180° and repeated some measurements Average of (before, after) flip: tends to bring offset closer to axis

Overall summary All points in this graph are averages of before and after flipping the probe over B2 (longitudinal) field results are quite consistent B0, B1 (transverse) field results all over the place!

What next? The B2 centres (after averaging) are all clustered around (x,y) = (-0.1,0.1) mm The B0, B1 centres are inconsistent with this How about connecting up individual coils?
