Ask the students questions to see if they understand the objectives that have been covered. Take any questions the students might have about limericks. Make up a limerick with the classes help. Have students name parts.
Divide students in groups. Have the groups pick a subject. Have groups write a limerick. Have groups jumble sentences and exchange. Have groups try to reconstruct the other group’s limerick. Have each group read the reconstructed limerick aloud. Confirm if it is right or wrong.
Review and discuss limericks that groups created. Answer any questions students may have about the lesson. Evaluate the students on knowledge of limericks, and participation in group activity.
