What is Ideation Sketching? Ideation Sketching is about loosening up your mind, your hand, and the connection between them. Think Different!—L-mode and R-mode, terms discussed in Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edward. “Only left-handed people are in their right minds.”

What is Ideation Sketching? Creating visual solutions Brainstorming with images, words & short phrases Harnessing the right side of the brain to work for us in problem solving

Loosening Up

Make up a Visualization Problem Starter ideas 1. Logo redesign/branding second spot commercial storyboard 3. Instruction sheet for assembly 4. Book jacket/cover design 5. Conveying large amounts of data 6. App icon design

Make up a Visualization Problem Sketch out at least three solutions 1. Begin drawing 2. As soon as you have a different idea, draw it 3. In 60 seconds… Go!! Feel free to jump around your page with ideas. Suspend judgment; it will help you be more prolific.
