Once on a winter’s night when all the house was sleeping There came a wondrous sight- a spectacle before the eyes Toys underneath the tree with soldier mice competing All seemed to come to life. A battle was about to start

The mouse king roared And waved his sword But all in vain-he was defeated Then peace returned again- A kingdom ever grateful Join with the happy band And journey to the land of sweets

Delicate and lovely dancers with nimble feet so petite float across the floor Beautiful as snowflakes with each beat in air meet then retreat as they race and soar Gently swaying-interplaying Grace displaying -then stop

Come to the sight of cossacks dancing See them row by row advancing Squatting, kicking tempos quickening At a hurried pace they go Forcibly the stage commanding With the feat of strength demanding Colors streaming, costumes gleaming Adding to the brilliant show

What athletic skill they’re showing Tossing, turning to and fro-ing Racing to the final bow
