CIC as a Social Enterprise To bring economic benefits to the community Social ownership of CIC (governance / ownership by employees and clients / associates The main characteristics of the CIC are: –To provide services (i.e. Coach education) –To achieve social objectives (i.e. Providing affordable sport to people on low incomes) –Generate a surplus income in order to re-invest in future developments Sports provision dependant on short-term funding and public funding
