LECTURE NOTE 1 CONCEPT OF PSYCHOLOGY What is Psychology?
Presentation transcript:

About GK-12 GK-12 is a program funded by the National Science Foundation Our goal is to have fellows in STEM classrooms, where they will help teachers integrate concepts of computer science into traditional lecture.

What is Grad School? Grad school is where you go after you have finished high school and you have finished college. You go to grad school if you want to keep learning about a specific area. You go to grad school to become an expert or specialize in a particular area that you are interested in. You can go to grad school for just about anything: – From Art to Science and anything in between.

Why I Chose Grad School I am fascinated with how humans work Early in my college experience, I learned that we can understand humans by using the scientific method – This is called Experimental Psychology I chose grad school to learn more about how we (humans) behave, think, and process information.

Research Title Memory – I am interested in understanding how memory evolved, and why we have memory. This is important to help us understand how memory works and how to improve memory. Vision – I am also interested in how different environments and different strategies influence what we can see. Different strategies and different environments can help or hurt our visual performance.

Experiences While in grad school I have learned a great deal about how humans see and remember information. I am excited to bring some of that information and some fun new experiences into your classroom!
