National 4-H Congress (4-H Senior members in 10 th,11 th or 12 th grade) State 4-H and State 4-H Fair Scholarships (Graduating HS Seniors in 12 th grade) State 4-H Awards (4-H Intermediate members in 7 th, 8 th or 9 th grade) National 4-H Conference (contact Marilyn Lesmeister) State 4-H Ambassadors (contact Roger or Scott Elmshaeuser) National 4-H Beekeeping Essay contest (4 th grade and above – do not have to be enrolled in a Beekeeping project) Brief Overview of Opportunities

Atlanta, GA on Thanksgiving weekend Open to Seniors (10 th – 12 th grade) Two step selection process State 4-H Resumes due in State Office March 1 Finalists must attend interview at Summer Conference Size of delegation depends on donor funding More information at congresshttp://oregon.4h.oregonstate.edu/national-4h- congress National 4-H Congress

Available only for graduating Seniors (12 th grade) Two different applications with different essay topics and application requirements Can apply for multiple scholarships on one application form Different criteria selection for each type of scholarship Must have SAT or ACT scores available by March 1 State 4-H and State 4-H Fair Scholarships

Open to Intermediates (7 th – 9 th grade) Individual Awards in Citizenship, Leadership and Communication Group Award in Team Community Service (for members in 4 th grade and above) recognition-awards State 4-H Special Awards

Used to apply to National 4-H Congress Demonstrates growth in 4-H Shows how their 4-H work has impacted the lives of others Should be in a stiff binder cover, with dividers between the 4 different sections Will be returned to 4-H member The State 4-H Resume

Recognition Calendar October – Remind scholarship applicants to take SAT/ACT – National 4-H Conference applications due 10/31/11 January: check website for final update on scholarships February 1: Beekeeping Essays Due March 1 st : Applications for Congress, State Awards, Scholarships and Hall of Fame due IN STATE OFFICE March 22-23: Recognition Committee meeting June1 : Applications for State Ambassadors Due June 27-30: Interviews for Ambassadors and Congress held at Summer Conference
