1 July 8, 2011 Boxes were moved between ground floor and console room floor. –Safety equipment and supplies identified and unpacked. –LN2 tank was unpacked and moved up. –Tank flange weldment was moved up. –Cube 4 and components were moved down to ground –Some empty crates moved down. Tank coming up the shaft.

2 Unpacking in the C-floor. –Tool box was organized; hand cart assembled –Controls Rack and Valve Box were unpacked –Tank Flange Weldment was unpacked. The LN2 pump (box 3a) was connected to the low-end. –The Cryomech (He compressor) was unpacked and moved to Coude Room. –“HYBOND” cryocooler crate are unpacked. –DC02 “relief valve” opened. –Work continued on the Console Room roof (see end of day photo) July 8, 2011

3 Then the tank weldment was temporarily installed into the tank so a height test can be performed. The two cryocoolers were installed into the tank.

4 July 8, 2011 That Gale had had crates already staged on the C-floor saved us a lot of time today. It is important to note that the long liquid level sensor is very fragile and could easily be broken if picked up from the bottom. It is important to handle it from the top, which is the heavy end. 7 Plans As NEWFIRM is going on the telescope on Tuesday we are hoping to get a little more jump on the schedule now. FNAL people are coming down the mountain on Friday evening instead of Saturday after lunch because of bad weather. Monday morning we’ll come back up from the Racinto, after a local tour for Andy and Rolando. Monday Afternoon assembly of the tank and tank flange, and preparing for the lift to the Console Room roof.
