Xe Excimer Lamp Emission Studies Shannon Dickson Scott Robertson

Purpose Determine if this UV lamp is adequate for experiments to simulate the photoelectron sheath above the lunar surface due to solar exposure.

After 3 hour warm-up emission varies by ± 0.1µA After 30 minute warm-up emission varies by ± 1µA At a radial distance of 100mm from the chamber center: P ≈ 9 W λ D ≈ 4cm n e ≈ 8 x 10 4 cm -3

Trouble shoot: Verify circuit functionality, etc. Continue lamp calibration in new DDPL chamber upon completion of lid modifications Study photoemission from lunar dust simulant To Do Next
