FACILITIES AND PROPERTY MANAGEMENT – CHP PROFILE

Phase 1 – 5 Project Increase running hours from 4,073 to 6000 per annumPredicted savings:362 tonnes CO2 per annum£183,424 per annumClose to 6,000 hours were achieved in 2009/2010We anticipate hitting close to 6,000 this year

FACILITIES AND PROPERTY MANAGEMENT – CHP PROFILE Scope to increase savings Current budget based on running 7,000 hours in 2011/12 Gas cost difference between 6,000 hours & 7,000 hours at prices £244,096 Electricity cost difference between 6,000 hours & 7,000 hours at prices £391,246 The EDF fee at prices equates £46,862Total variance between 6,000 hours & 7,000 hours equates: 180 tonnes CO2 /£100,288 savings

FACILITIES AND PROPERTY MANAGEMENT – CHP PROFILE Extended project scope At present we do not operate CHP overnight Demand for electricity and heating overnight makes running one engine viable (00.00 to 07.00) Potential to run additional 2,296 hour a year 413 tonnes CO2
