Pearl River, NY! Located in Southern NY About 20 minutes from NYC and about a mile from NJ 15,000 citizens Hamlet of Rockland County Originally called Muddy River and later named Pearl River because a doctor found pearls inside of mussels in Muddy Brooke.
Pearl River High School received the Malcolm Baldridge Award of Excellence.
Pearl River High School’s Mascot is the Pirate, and their biggest rivals are the Nanuet Knights and the Tappan Zee Dutchmen.
Pearl River has the largest youth Gaelic Athletic Football team in the United States. Probably due in some part to the excessively large Irish population.
Pearl River has the second largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York State.
The Pearl River train station was founded in And is now used to get into Manhattan as the majority of people from Pearl River work in the city.
