INTRODUCTION EndNote is a search tool that provides a simple way to search online bibliographic databases and retrieve the references directly into EndNote EndNote is a reference and image databases which specializes in storing, managing and searching for bibliographic references in your private reference library (called EndNote Library)
INTRODUCTION You can organize images including charts, table, figures, PDfs and other files. Downloading references from other databases such as Science Direct, PubMed, Ovid etc. Using the database to link to references in word-processed documents. Generating a bibliography in the correct style for publications.
WHY USE ENDNOTE? EndNote can save time and effort by automating the storage and management of references. It can also create bibliographies in a range of styles in your word documents in a matter of seconds.
STARTING ENDNOTE From the start menu choose Programs, select EndNote and then choose EndNote Program.Click on Create a new EndNote Library and then click ok.
Click Endnote Program Icon at your Desktop
A New Reference Library will appear A New Reference Library will appear. Enter a name for your file and click Save.

ADDING REFERENCES Click on Reference > new Reference Choose Reference Type on the drop-down menu next to Reference Type to select required type. Enter your reference details (see example 1 & 2 ) Click on x to close (this will automatically save the record) or Klik File & Save Repeat step 1-4 for adding new reference Sort – by Author, Year, Title..
ADDING REFERENCES BY IMPORTING References from a database search can be imported into an EndNote library so there is no need to re-type each entry.
Steps : 1. Tools > Click on online search > new search
2. Choose database e.g PubMed (NLM) > double click / click choose button

5. Copy all to > your existing file name

4. EndNote will insert your references and generate a bibliography

How to cite while you write Open the EndNote Library that contain the references you wish to cite Start Microsoft Word and open the document you are writing When you are ready to cite a source, position the cursor in the text where you would like to put the citation Go to Endnote Library / Your Endnote File Choose any citation which are relevance to the text. Click Tools > Cite While You Write > Insert Selected Citations Go back to step 3 to insert the next citation and continue citing references this way.
