 Your Audience/Training Group  The Content  The Delivery  Yourself

 Know your audience ◦ Do they know each other ◦ What are their roles ◦ How does the training relate their job ◦ Why are they attending  Allow the group to get to know each other  What size is the group

 Age/Experience of the group  Are they friendly or hostile?  How familiar are they with the subject?

 Objective ◦ Establish a clear objective for yourself and keep it constantly in mind ◦ What do you want to achieve by the end of the session  Structure ◦ Divide the content into manageable sections ◦ Make it relevant ◦ Review the skill or concept

 Training Resources ◦ Use data projector with caution (do not overuse) ◦ Instruction sheets for practical activities ◦ Have all work files available ◦ Handouts reduce the need for note-taking

 Visual Aids ◦ Keep simple and relevant ◦ Make them appealing ◦ Avoid too many bullet points

 Introduction ◦ First impressions ◦ Tell your training group  About yourself  What you are going to talk about  How long will it last  Whether they need to take notes
