New design capable looking at the out-of-plane motion Open Loop  Controlled (reeling) 

Current challenges/opportunities Tether reel mechanics are still a major problem –it stymied NASA too so I guess we don’t feel too ashamed… Some problems with noisy sensor –using low-pass filter seems to have fixed it? We’ll need to rotate the base (table) to excite significant out-of-plane motion
