Contents  What is Mercury ?  Where is Mercury ?  Facts about Mercury ?  Who lives on Mercury ? Warning !!! You should only look for Mercury after the sun has fully set or before it has started to rise. You might blind yourself even if you glimpse the suns rays though a telescope.

What is Mercury ?  Mercury is a planet.  It is the second smallest planet in the solar system.

Where is Mercury ?  Mercury is in the solar system.  It is the closest planet to the sun.

Facts about Mercury.  If you weighed 70 pounds on earth you would only weigh 27 pounds on Mercury because Mercury is smaller and has less gravity.  Mercury is called the morning star because Mercury shines brighter early in the morning when the sun rises.  Mercury has no weather or water.  In the daytime temperatures reach up to 400°c and at night it plunges to -170°c.

More facts !!  It was first flown past in 1974 by the mariner 10 space probe, before then they knew little about it.  Its surface is covered in craters and dust.  Mercury has a diameter of 4880 km across.  Mercury is a hostile planet and no one is likely to visit it for a long time, if ever.

Any questions ?
