The famous GE Grid … Provides guidelines on Pathways, limits on courses, etc

All GE courses must cover at least one GE Values SLO. Practical Intellectual Skills (1-4) GE Values SLOs (5-10) Pathways … Think of them as inter- disciplinary minors …

Essential qualities of Pathways … EM limits us to max of 10 Pathways

More on Pathways …. Don’t forget, students must take 4 Writing Intensive courses

A more detailed timeline is up on Google docs ….

Application for FLC: Two-pages + appropriate Template: Pathway, Foundation or American Institutions

Pathway Template, pgs 1,2 … Templates are aspirational as well as informational

Final page of Pathway template … use this template for applying for FLC grant. Template will also be used for submitting Pathway proposals to I-Team and GEAC in September 2010

Pathway Rubric is based on criteria in EM … provides guidance to faculty developing Pathways regarding selection criteria … also used to assess FLC proposals …

Pg 1 Pg 2 Pg 3 Remember: Foundation, AI courses go live in Fall 2011!

Foundation Rubric … as with other rubrics, criteria are derived from EM … used to assess FLC proposals and ultimately for GE course proposals ….

Pg 1 Pg 3 Pg 2 AI courses belong to History and Political Science and course proposals come from those departments … Others may propose Links, Pathway associations to AI in consultation with HIST, POLS faculty …

Faculty in History, Political Science will submit courses for inclusion in GE … their proposals will be assessed using this rubric … HIST and POLS faculty may also connect with other faculty for links and other connections …
