When A Storm Comes Up Listen To The Rain Vocabulary What's The Weather?

flashes Meaning: a sudden streak of lightening, plural of flash Action: take your pointer finger and make a z flash in the air

shelter Meaning: to cover or protect Action: Make a roof over your head

funnel Meaning: a cone-shaped form Action: swirl your pointer finger around in a funnel shape

sprinkle Meaning: a light rain Action: take your fingers and sprinkle down throught the air

Vocabulary Warm Up It rains a lot where I live. During some rain storms I have seen lightening flashes in the sky. It makes me want to find shelter to keep safe and dry. I sometimes worry about tornados near my home and whether or not a funnel cloud might blow over something. I know we need rain and other types of weather. But I just wish when it rained that it was only a sprinkle.
