O’Keeffe’s Life Georgia O’Keeffe was born in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin in During her childhood, her parents encouraged her to pursue painting.

New York In 1916, O’Keeffe met Alfred Stieglitz, a man who owned a gallery called 291. He helped her become well- known in the art world, and later she married him. Blue and Green Music 1921

Her art became famous, so she was able to support herself through painting. In 1928 she sold 6 paintings for $25,000 which was the most money that had ever been paid to one artist at that time.
