Abortion “Respect, protect, love and serve life, every human life! Only in this direction will you find justice, development, true freedom, peace, and happiness!” -Pope John Paul II By: McKenzie & Leah

What is Abortion? ~Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. It is a disregard and disrespect for human life. ~It ALWAYS goes against what the Catholic Church teaches, and it is NEVER okay under any circumstances ~Abortion is just as bad as killing someone because from the moment of conception a person is living, and it is taking the life of a innocent defenseless human being. ~True Catholics are Pro-Life, which means that they are completely against abortion

What the Bible Says… ~"Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations."(Jeremiah 1:4-5). ~"What then shall I do when God rises up? When He punishes, how shall I answer Him? Did not He who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same One fashion us in the womb?" (Job 31:14-15) ~“You formed me in my inmost being, you knit me in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13) These Bible passages tell us that God wants us to respect the human life no matter what. Life starts at the moment of conception, and life inside the womb is sacred and precious

What the Catechism Says.. 2261 Scripture specifies the prohibition contained in the fifth commandment: "Do not slay the innocent and the righteous."61 The deliberate murder of an innocent person is gravely contrary to the dignity of the human being, to the golden rule, and to the holiness of the Creator. The law forbidding it is universally valid: it obliges each and everyone, always and everywhere. 2271 Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law 75. You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish These passages from the catechism clearly state that from the moment of conception, the human person is living. Abortion has and always will be seen as grave evil. Abortion goes completely against what God, and the Catholic Church teaches

Donum Vitae states.. This document is a part of the Magisterium, and it is all about the respect of human life From the moment of conception, the life of every human being is to be respected in an absolute way because man is the only creature on earth that God has wished for himself[16] and the spiritual soul of each man is "immediately created" by God[17]; his whole being bears the image of the Creator. Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves "the creative action of God"[18] and it remains forever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end.[19] God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can, in any circumstance, claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being.[20] This passage from donum vitae tells us that life begins at the moment of conception, and we must have a respect for human life. Harming that life in any way shape or form is a sinful action. This clearly states that a child is alive in their mother’s womb, therefore, abortion is killing a live human being

What our text book says.. Abortion assaults human dignity and one’s worth as a unique child It violates the mother and the whole family, but it especially violates the child-it is a grave act of injustice toward the innocent and defenseless child WOMB TO TOMB- this means life should be celebrated and respected from the moment of conception until natural death

General Arguments… Arguments Responses 1. What if the child was an “accident?” 2. What is the mother does not want the child? 3. Abortion is the only option 1. God has a plan for all of us, and that child is not seen as an “accident” to God 2. There are much better alternatives to abortion, such as adoption 3. Abortion is never the only option, nor the best, there are always alternatives such as adoption

March for Life in Washington DC Every year since abortion became legal, people of all ages, travel from all over, to Washington DC to express there love of life, and to help stop abortions. It is an awesome thing to participate in because there you are surrounded by people who believe in the same values as you As you walk down the streets of Washington DC protesting, people are chanting some cool pro-life cheers like “Hey hey, ho ho, Row Vs Wade has got to go” and “We love babies yes we do, We love babies how about you?”

Final words.. Life should always be respected and celebrated no matter what. Abortion is always considered an immoral action and a grave sin Life starts at the moment of conception in the womb As followers of Christ, it is our job to respect life Abortion is never the “best option,” there are other alternatives like adoption
