College App Week OK-CAN would host monthly planning calls Example: August – Get started, build and prepare your team, begin looking for potential sponsors who could supply food or goodies at the event(s) September – Get seniors signed up for college visits and make sure they participate in local college fairs, start marketing CAW to students and parents October – Confirm volunteers, make final arrangements for CAW event, reconfirm with any sponsors, begin making school announcements as reminders, solicit assistance from English teacher to have students work on admission letters November – for any last minute details If I decide to participate in CAW, what would the preparation look like?
College App Week Before you leave for summer break, reserve the dates and a location that could be used for CAW media center, computer lab, anywhere you could set up PC’s for your seniors to use, and get it on the school calendar (be sure to get approvals from your administration if necessary) Plan on joining us in August to go over materials and cover planning steps to be taken before the November events Look for announcements and information sent to the OK-CAN listserv Be thinking about volunteers you can approach in the fall to help plan and participate in your event What do I need to do NOW?
