Principles Activity: At your table groups, use your BODIES to demonstrate each of the principles. I will provide a brief definition for you to write down, and then come up with a creative way to demonstrate! Have fun, but be accurate!

Rhythm Leads your EYE through the space using color, line, form or texture. Repetition- An element REPEATS Gradation- An element GRADUALLY changes Radiation- An element goes AROUND a point Transition- An element FLOWS in a curve Opposition- An element forms a RIGHT ANGLE

Emphasis The center of attention that first catches your eye in a design. Sometimes called a focal point.
Unity and Variety Unity- All the parts of a design are related. Variety- Different styles and materials are combined. When Unity and Variety are successfully used TOGETHER it is called HARMONY.
