During this process in the… First minute the measurement of the depth sand that settles at the bottom off the container was ½ of an inch, but when I tried it in a container that was not as wide it was 1 inch deep. First two hours the silt that settled above the soil was ½ of an inch high (in the container that wasn’t really wide). First 24 hours, in the container that wasn’t extremely wide, the depth of the layer between the silt and the floating organic matter measured 5 inches deep.
Clay particles were located between the silt and organic matter in my sample. Based on the measurements I recorded the clay layer is the greatest part off my sample (in both containers). Since 5 is greater than ½ of an inch and 1 inch, the clay part is the greatest. During this process in was slightly hard to see the organic layer, because sometime when I moved the containers the soap began to create suds.
