Stage One 1940 Cold War between the United states and the Soviet Bloc countries. Korea taken from Japan and divided at the 38 th parallel. Northern Korea Communist Southern Korean Democratic My Videos\korean war 1.mov

Stage Two The United States and United Nations sided with South Korea after Communist North Korea invaded South Korea. N. Korea took over the capital of Seoul.

Stage South Korean and United States troops organized under the United Nations. Chinese troops began attacking U.N. troops. 120,000 Chinese soldiers surrounded 14,000 U.N. soldiers. U.S. forces regained control of Seoul.

Stage Chinese captured Seoul. 3 months later, the U.N. reclaimed Seoul. General Douglas MacArthur dismissed by President Harry S. Truman.

Stage years of massive artillery fights around the 38 th parallel. Infantry struggles over small pieces of land. Peace negotiations took place. No hope of ending the war.
