The Routes CycloDesGrandesAlpes.fr Cycling Tour of the French Alps covers all the roads of the legendary Route des Grandes Alpes except a little detour on the way between Saint-Sauveur at Tinée and Isola. In Thonon, the departure is from the Town Hall of Thonon-les-Bains at km 0. Arriving in Menton is to the Mediterranean seashore. On the route from Menton to Thonon, the Col de la Bonnette will be offered as an alternative. Option AR Thonon to Menton to Thonon 2 weeks (ALLER et RETOUR) Saturday, June 20: meeting in camping in Thonon-les-Bains. Departure on bicycles from Thonon on Sunday, June 21, for 6 stages. Arrival to Menton on Friday, June 26. Rest day in Menton on Saturday, June 27. Return on bicycles from Menton to Thonon on Sunday, June 28 for 6 stages southwards and arrival to Thonon on Friday, July 3, at around 2 pm. Option A : A bus will take the participants on Sunday, June 28, at 8 am in Menton and will bring them back to Thonon, arriving at around 5 pm. Regulations CycloDesGrandesAlpes.fr Participants agree to respect the French highway code and must consider themselves as being in a personal self dependent tour, no signalmen will be present on the roads of this Route des Grandes Alpes The road book of the itinerary of 6 Stages to / from Menton through the roads of the Grandes Alpes will be sent by in the month of January 2015 Replenishment stops with snacks will be provided at each stage, and a cold buffet will be served at the finish of each stage Medical staff will be supporting the participants: a physician, a nurse and several masseuses. Also 1 or 2 mechanics will be helping caring for the bicycles Helmets are mandatory at all times. Every bicycle will have to be designated by a provided plate with the full name of a participant Transportation of the luggage: 1 bag per person will be carried between the hotels along the route by organizers, max 44 lb / 20 kg Each participant must be covered by personal insurance. The organizer will be covered by liability insurance The paid commitment is firm and final and can not be subject to any refund unless strong medical reason The early drops and failure to finish all the previewed stages along the way during the tour will not be refunded You will be allowed to finish any stage in a supporting van and continue the following day on bicycle The announced fees cover full support starting from the meeting on Saturday, June 20, at 2 pm in Thonon les Bains for Options A and AR up to return to Thonon les Bains; and starting from Saturday, June 27, at 8 am in Thonon les Bains for Options R up to return to Thonon les Bains on Friday, July 3, including a reception buffet which will be offered on arrival Along the way of the tour accommodation will be provided in hotels or holiday centers with dinner and breakfast included For the 10th edition of the tour, we are proposing a new ‘comfort’ class of staying (for an increased fee).
