Health & Safety Inspections Set a date for the inspection with SMT H&S Reps are entitled to carry out an inspection without employers’ approval But this is not recommended Best way is by co-operation No point in antagonising your employer If there are any hazards or problems they see them at the same time

Health & Safety Inspections Ensure all appropriate paperwork is available Checklist – EIS H&S Handbook – 81 checkpoints! Report forms – MSF 10B GCC H&S Policy School H&S Policy

Health & Safety Inspections Contact LA H&S Reps if you have any queries Carry out inspection with SMT Have your checklist as you travel around the school It doesn’t have to be the whole building Write down any problems or hazards as you go along (anything that you don’t tick on the checklist) Try to get agreement with SMT rep on problem/hazard

Health & Safety Inspections Complete paperwork Checklist Report forms Make sure forms are signed by you and the SMT Rep Ensure you have a copy of the forms Record dates for review of actions Inform LA H&S Reps (via LA Office – Justine) of completed inspection
