Vienna Youth Soccer Vision The VYS Travel program is a Player Development program that includes selection / non selection. There are many different ways to organize such a program. Whilst VYS will conduct diligent research on current methods, we will be striving to set our own highest standards

Vienna Youth Soccer Values VYS will strive to offer an excellent player development program for all players with the emphasis on development. VYS will strive to ensure players fall in love with the game of soccer and continue to love the game.

Vienna Youth Soccer Try Outs The aim of VYS during the Try Outs is to ensure a fair and transparent process for all, a consistent well organized Try Out and a well communicated message prior, during and post Try Out. This will create a positive environment for all to take the field and showcase their talents.

Vienna Youth Soccer Try Outs - Registration All Players must pre-register for the Try Outs through the VYS website. Players who wish to Try Out for older age groups must attend the Try Out of their actual Age Group first. Assistant Technical Director will then assess and direct player.

Vienna Youth Soccer Try Outs - Attendance All current VYS players are invited to Try Outs to be observed by the new Technical Director, Assistant Technical Director and Coaches. (We want you to show off your talents as we have not seen you play.) For players that are unavailable for Try Outs dates this will be collected at Sign Up and Assistant Technical Director will advise

Vienna Youth Soccer Try Outs - Attendance There are 3 scheduled Try Outs. In the event a Try Out is cancelled due to weather, the Make Up date will be utilized. All players must endeavor to be at all 3 Try Outs. All Players must wear a plain white T shirt (No Vienna / club shirts). All Players must wear shin guards, cleats and bring water bottle and soccer ball

Vienna Youth Soccer Try Outs – Evaluation Current players – Coaches will submit Player Evaluation forms to Assistant Technical Directors in advance of the Try Outs. This is one tool for coaches to use to evaluate players. During the Try Outs, coaches will use a Player Observation form to support monitoring players. This is a tool to support coaches to make objective decisions; not a feedback form.

Vienna Youth Soccer Try Outs - Rosters The decision on players will be a collective one made by coaches, Assistant Technical Directors and where needed the Technical Director. All players will be informed via 2 working days after the last Try Out date whether they have been successful / unsuccessful.

Vienna Youth Soccer Try Outs – Rosters If successful, players will be invited to sign up to join the VYS Roster for that Age group on a specific team. This does not mean the player will play every game with this team as it is a player development program and we must create a culture of occasional player movement.

Vienna Youth Soccer Try Outs – Arrival on the day Please ensure you arrive as early as possible for the Try Out to register / sign in (30 minutes prior). Please ensure parents carpool for ease of parking. Please ensure parents are aware of time and finish times of Try Outs.

Vienna Youth Soccer Try Outs - Upon Arrival Upon arrival, players must sign in. Each Player will be assigned a number e.g 132. That is your Try Out number for all three Try Out dates. The assigned number must be placed on playing shorts clearly visible to coaches. Players must bring their assigned number to each Try Out.

Vienna Youth Soccer Try Out – Format Each VYS Try Out will consist of: Sign In Warm Up Introduction message Small Sided Games (Introduction message for Parents) Cool Down and Depart
