Improving Teaching and Learning in PSHE education January 2015 Courses Offer £170 per person per course. Courses to support the development of Health and Wellbeing and PSHE education: Thursday 19 March 2015 PSHE education NEW Programme of Study and Government Expectations This course identifies that ‘all schools should make provision for PSHE education, drawing on good practice’ (DfE) 2013 Schools are required to meet the governments expectations of high quality PSHE teaching and publish their curriculum by subject and academic year. The course will introduce the PSHE Association’s NEW Programme of Study for PSHE education and the NEW updated Spiral Curriculum for Primary Schools. Tuesday 12 May 2015 SRE Course - Moving on with SRE for the 21 st Century Exploring the ‘R’ in Sex and Relationships and including the Professional Development of SRE across all key stages. This course focuses on the importance of SRE and it’s place within school. It will provide opportunities to review current practice and raise confidence in the planning and delivery across all key stages. It explores the importance of teaching about positive relationships and respect for difference and diversity. Participants will identify and learn about mutually supportive relationships and consider issues such as gender role, sexuality, sexual orientation, sexual exploitation and domestic violence. Friday 12 June 2015 Drugs Education in the Context of the Government Drug Strategy. This identifies key priorities to ‘Reduce Demand, Restrict Supply and Build Recovery: supporting people to live a drug free life’. Schools have a clear role to play in preventing Drug and Alcohol misuse as part of their statutory duties to promote children and young people’s wellbeing. This course will enable staff to provide accurate information and explore how they can make Drugs Education a Whole School Approach including managing drugs incidents.

Courses to support the development of Health and Wellbeing and PSHE education: (cont) Monday 27 th April 2015 Promoting Whole School Positive Emotional Health and Wellbeing ‘Maintained schools have a statutory duty to promote children and young people’s wellbeing including physical and mental health.
