How Simulation affect our world? (How does the Simulated Space and Non-space alter our identity?) EJ Fuenzalida

1) Why? I had chosen this question as I had read a fictional book based on a virtual world and with in this book, it tells a story of how a virtual world affect there life and there identity. Also the subject had engage me as simulation has many contexts such as video games, education and training and computer simulation (science)

“I created the OASIS because I never felt at home in the real world. I didn't know how to connect with the people there. I was afraid, for all of my life, right up until I knew it was ending. That was when I realized, as terrifying and painful as reality can be, it's also the only place where you can find true happiness. Because reality is real.” ― Ernest Cline, Ready Player OneErnest Cline, Ready Player One

2) How I will be looking at theories of simulation and non-space such as the idealism and values of there importance in turning imagination into reality and reality into imagination. I will construct them on first finding out of what is the idealism in simulation and the meaning of it. I will then look the values and the important of simulation and non- spaces in helping us identify on improving and solving problems.

3) What As a person studying animation I have to understand how I can create a world for my character to function in and also how my story will connect with my audiences. By understanding the meaning of simulation and how it affect different situation, I will have a clear understand on how I can create a world that my future audience can connect with.

“We have the opportunity to explore extraordinary worlds and stories interactively. Whether the aim is to play, to watch or just to hang out in an imaginary place.” ―Dave Morris and Leo Hartas

4) Who I will be looking up different authors that talks about the topic that I had chosen. Some of the authors that I had looked up are: Marc Auge a French Anthropologist Sean Cubit the writer of Simulation and Social Theory Dave Morris & Leo Hatas writer of The Arts Of Game Worlds Robert A. Heinlein is an American science fiction writer ‘The Unpleasant Profession of Jonathan Hoag’ Ernest Cline is an American novelist ‘Ready Player One’
