Montgomery Bus Boycott Learning Target: I can understand the importance of the Montgomery Bus Boycott to the Civil Rights Era. Opener: Watch the following video From watching the video- what KEY ideas/phrases did you recognize? WHO was the KEY player in the Montgomery Bus Boycott?

Round 1 In your group, go over the timeline and Document A (textbook) Define what the word boycott means Fill out your graphic organizer Reason suggested by this document- refers to the Focus Question What from the text would give you a reason that the Boycott was successful. Evidence from document- this is a direct quote from the document that PROVES your reason Review what a TOPIC SENTENCE looks like. NOW create a claim (TOPIC SENTENCE) that would answer WHY the Montgomery Bus Boycott was successful/or not.
