Residential (40% of average city) Where people live A mixture of low, medium, high density Low=detached housing Medium=townhouses, small apartments buildings High=large condo towers and high rise apartments More density closer to city centre

Commercial (5%) A mixture of businesses offering goods and services, varying sizes:   Convenience Retail (Chinguacousy & Botavia Downs) Neighbourhood Retail (Fortino's Plaza) District Retail (Trinity Commons – 410 & Bovaird) Central Business District (Downtown Toronto)

Industrial (6%) These are the factories (2 main types) Suburban business parks Ribbon industries (along railways, highways, lake shores)
