DATA USAGE CHARGES WHILE INTERNATIONAL ROAMING 1. It is observed that many excess-billing complaints are raised by customers having International roaming facility. Heavy bill is generated due to data usage while on international roaming, and in most cases the customer claims innocence of using data or ignorance of data charges while roaming. The only way to avoid such complaints is to educate the customer about the VERY HIGH (up to 5000 times of the normal rate) data roaming tariff, at the point of sale itself i.e. at CSC. 2. At the CSC the front-end personnel can correctly educate the applicant on the voice and data rates while on international roaming and to visit the site http://ir.bsnl.co.in/ for any clarification. 3. While activating international roaming facility, data of the customer should also be barred with the consent of the customer at CSC itself.
