Intro This is a couple parts of chapter 21 that I enjoyed which were the three philosophies, the Zhou Dynasty, and some extra interesting facts that I put at the end.

The Zhou Dynasty  King Wu was the first ruler of the Zhou dynasty. He was considered a just and able leader.  This dynasty replaced the Shang dynasty.  The three philosophies came after feudalism. Feudalism kept China stable for a while but eventually they came up with the three ancient Chinese philosophies.

Confucianism  Founded by Cunfucius  The goal was just and peaceful society  There are five basic relationships: ruler and subject, husband and wife, father and son, older sibling and younger sibling, and friend and friend.

Daoism  Founded by Laozi  Based from Dao; the force that gave order to the natural world  Yin means shaded and Yang sunlit

Legalism  Founded by Hanfeizi  Based on the idea that all people are selfish  People that do a bad job or deed shall be harshly punished, killed, or banished.

Interesting Facts  With Legalism if a worker built a bad house they may have to die for it.  All of the three philosophies were created to create a peaceful society and order in society.  After Feudalism and before the three philosophies their was a time of disorder and chaos.
