Discussion for requirement of industrial use case TP #15 Group Name: REQ WG Source: Toshiko Matsumoto(Hitachi), He Xuan (Hitachi), Taizo Kinoshita (Hitachi) Agenda Item: TBD REQ R01-Discussion_for_requirement_of_industrial_use_case.ppt

Introduction Requirement of standardized technology to realize industrial use case (REQ R03) Current problems in industrial application: GW has to process data in real-time, Factories and plants have to work in autonomous, and User requires QoS control. Suggestion of discussion on topics or aspects of industry interworking, “autonomous real-time control Gateway” “autonomous real-time control Gateway”.

Requirement of OneM2M and industry interworking We need a standardized technology to realize industrial use case, because there are currently some problems (next pages). Considering industrial applications can lead to other verticals. Industrial application is one of the most important verticals for OneM2M, because of its noteworthy pressure of efficiency, flexibility, delivery quickness, safety, and so on. Agriculture Residential Transport Retail Healthcare Energy EnterprisePublic services Industrial “inner factory” “inter factory”

GatewayGateway Current problems to realize industrial application (1) Data has to be processed in real-time. GW can utilize data aggregating function. Head Quarters Stream data aggregating module sensor/device GatewayGateway Stream data aggregating module Internet System monitoring, Operation rate improvement, Preventive maintenance, or Any other data analysis Production line in factory/Plant Cloud(data center) summarization delivery extraction wireless network Industrial Ethernet Advantage of stream data aggregating module: optimize data size and communication cost optimize data size and communication cost adjust data size through from adjust data size through from implementation to operation implementation to operation Programmable Logic Controller sensor devices time frequencysummarize

Current problems to realize industrial application (2) Factories and plants have to work for long time. GW has to work in autonomous to move on with data requirement change caused by production environment or new facilities Head Quarters GatewayGateway Stream data aggregating module Internet System monitoring, Operation rate improvement, Preventive maintenance, or Any other data analysis Production line in factory/Plant Cloud(data center) Industrial Ethernet The way of data summarization can be changed. time frequencysummarize Data catalogue frequency summarize

Current problems to realize industrial application (3) User requires QoS control for system monitoring. Traffic monitoring has to be enabled at GW. GatewayGateway Head Quarters Stream data aggregating module sensor/device GatewayGateway Stream data aggregating module Internet System monitoring, Operation rate improvement, Preventive maintenance, or Any other data analysis Production line in factory/Plant Cloud(data center) summarization delivery extraction wireless network Industrial Ethernet Programmable Logic Controller sensor devices !? time Alert “Data loss” A production line is damaged? Network failure is occurred? Temporal network delay occurred?

Discussion for requirement of industrial use case We would like to discuss on topics or aspects of industry interworking. Initial research on systems and characteristics of factories/plants, Possible architectures/interworking scenarios, Suitable WG to discuss… WG1, 3 or 4?, Standardize data aggregating/QoS function for real time control, and so on
