SoftX3000 is applicable to the network control layer of NGN and implements call control and connection management of voice, data and multimedia services based on the IP network. SoftX3000 is fully compatible with all service capabilities of PSTN exchanges and can be used as a multimedia end office.

TCP/IP LayersNGN Layers Application Layer Control Layer Transport/Data Link Physical Service Management Networks Core Switching Access

It deals with the call control and management of voice, data and multimedia services based on IP Networks. It Supports dual Homing Multi Signalling point code

It mainly deals with the following Protocols in Pakistan: 1. H248:It is used between UMG and SoftX H323:It is used between SoftX3000 and other SoftX SIP:It is used between SoftX3000 and other services. 4. Sigtran:It is used between SoftX3000 and TDM.

It provides the following services: a. Voice b. Data c. Multimedia d. Intelligent Network (IN) e. Value Added Services (VAS)

IFMI:Receive and transmit IP packets, process MAC layer messages and distribute IP messages. FCCU:Implement processing of call control and protocols. Generate bills and has bill pool. SMUI:Main control board of a frame. Perform loading and managing system program and data. CDBI:Stores all data regarding call location, gateway resources management and outgoing trunk circuit selection. BSGI:Process the IP packets after the IFMI level-1 dispatch, implement processing of such protocols as UDP, SCTP, M2UA, M3UA, V5UA, IUA, MGCP and H.248

MSGI:Process such protocols as UDP, TCP, H.323 (including H.323 RAS and H.323 Call Signalling) and SIP. ALUI:Alarm Unit Interface UPWR:DC Power Board

BFII:Back interface board of the IFMI and provide one FE to connect to IP network. HSCI:Bridge between left and right shared resource buses, perform board hot swap control and board power-on control. SIUI:Provide the SMUI with Ethernet interface. CKII:Clock Board, It generates clock to sync. the system. UPWR:DC Power Board
