SUMMER ENRICHMENT They’re FUN and EDUCATIONAL! Avoid the summer brain drain! Enroll in our programs today! The Hamden Recreation Department and Bricks 4 Kidz are excited to offer you these specialty summer enrichment programs ! Junior Robotics INTRO (Age 6+) Cost: $180 Dates: August 3 -7 Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM How would you like to turn your next Lego ® creations into a robot, programmed to do just what you tell it to do? The Bricks 4 Kidz Junior Robotics program offers all the fun of building with Lego® bricks, PLUS the challenge of computer programming! Using drag and drop icon-based software, this unit provides an introduction into the world of computer programming and robotics that will equip children to succeed in a technology based marketplace. Animal Brickologist (Age 6+) Cost: $140 Dates: August 3 -7 Time: 1:00 PM – 4: 00 PM Spend the week discovering the zany biology of our animal friends. Each day, we will explore fascinating facts about the animal kingdom, focusing on a “creature of the day”. Build a different animal model each day and fill your very own “Animal Brickology” booklet with crazy and cool facts you learn, complete with a picture of each model, to become a certified Bricks 4 Kidz Brickologist. *All participants take home a custom mini-figure at the end of the week. Comic Creator (Age 6+) Cost: $180 Dates: August Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Bricks, Camera….COMIC Action! Explore the artistic form of comic book design as you learn to create your personalized edition. Create your own characters, develop story lines and incorporate pictures of actual sets, all designed with LEGO® Bricks! After creating various scenes, your child will snap pictures and upload them, utilizing a software program to create their very own, one of a kind comic book. Along with honing your story telling skills, this enrichment program is sure to take your imagination to the next level. How’s that for comic relief? *All kids take home a custom mini-figure at the end of the week. Junior Robotics ADVANCED (Age 8-12) Cost: $180 Dates: August Time: 1:00 PM – 4: 00 PM A continuation of Junior Robotics INTRO, in this program we use motion, tilt and lights for more programming depth! Amusement Park (Age 6+) Cost: $140 Dates: August 17 – 21 Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Get your ticket to ride at Bricks 4 Kidz® very own Amusement Park! Your child will build a new ride each day, learning how to make things spin, roll, turn and rock. Then they will take what they have learned to design their own thrills and challenges. Motorized models maximize the action and the fun. Program includes carnival-themed games, group challenges, model-building and more. *All participants take home a custom mini- figure at the end of the week. Stop Motion Animation (Age 8+) Cost: $180 Dates: August Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM Is your child a budding film-maker? Come join us for a week of movie making! Kids learn to make a complete stop motion movie. From creating storyboards, building film sets and filming their scenes using LEGO® Bricks, to editing sound effects and music - your child gets a taste of what movie making is all about!
