AUTOMATED SHOPPING LIST DESIGN PROJECT Team Moritz: Philip Seton, Anas Daboussi Jedediyah Williams, Olayinka Sanusi

OUTLINE  Background & Motivation  Overview of Components  Deliverables  Preliminary Design  Design Alternatives

Background & Motivation  Mental Health & Mentally Challenged individuals have problems formulating precisely what is needed in their homes for their wellbeing.

Background & Motivation  People in general are unaware of the various types of items contained in their refrigerator and tend to create incomplete shopping lists.

Background & Motivation I hate making Out shopping Lists. This takes Too much work!!

Background & Motivation  Companies need fast and efficient ways of keeping track of their items/supplies.  Some of these companies are:  Service Net  Apple Seed’s  UFP Technologies

BACKGROUND & MOTIVATION  All of the different problems and obstacles that were mentioned in the previous slides is what motivates us in creating a fast and efficient way of keeping track of supplies/items.

OUTLINE  Background & Motivation  Overview of Components  Deliverables  Preliminary Design  Design Alternatives

Overview of Components  Weight Sensor  Microprocessor  Wireless Transmitters & Receivers  LCD Output

Overview of Components Sensor Transmitter Microprocessor

Overview of Components Wireless Receiver Milk is 80% empty, Please Purchase a new carton!!.

OUTLINE  Background & Motivation  Overview of Components  Deliverables  Preliminary Design  Design Alternatives

DELIVERABLES  There are four deliverables:  System specifications:  Design concept.  Block diagram.  Functional description of the blocks.  Analysis done during the design of the system.  Schematic diagrams and circuit description.

DELIVERABLES  The following documentation:  Wiring diagram  Parts list, assembly drawings, and assembly instructions.  User’s Manual

DELIVERABLES: Prototype  A working prototype will be build. It will include the following components :  A weight sensor  An Analog - To - Digital converter  A pair of communicating wireless transceiver  An LCD monitor and keyboard user interface  A manual switch to choose container ID’s

OUTLINE  Background & Motivation  Overview of Components  Deliverables  Preliminary Design  Design Alternatives

Preliminary Design

OUTLINE  Background & Motivation  Overview of Components  Deliverables  Preliminary Design  Design Alternatives

DESIGN ALTERNATIVES  Have a wired circuit instead of a wireless one:  The sensor could be wired to an embedded computer  Multiple wireless protocols to choose from (Bluetooth, ZigBee)  Sensor alternatives
