PRIOR LAKE WRESTLING CLUB Molding tomorrow’s leaders 5527 Highpointe Ct SE | Prior Lake, MN For more information about Prior Lake wrestling, please visit our website at:  High School Prior Lake won the Section 2AAA team tournament for the fourth straight year and after finishing 3 rd three years in a row they moved up one spot to finish in second place in State! They beat a very tough STMA team to advance to finals before falling to perennial power Apple Valley. Ten wrestlers qualified for the Individual State Tourney and six placed. They were led Alex Hart and Luis Pinto who both finished as State Champions! Other place winners for the Lakers were Rylee Streifel – 3 rd, Blake Carlisle – 5 th and Dylan Sogge – 6 th and Sean O’Neil - 6 th. Head coach Joe Block added to the honors by being selected as both the Section 2AAA & State AAA Coach of the Year for the third time in four years. Eight grader Curtis LeMair also had a great season finishing as a 9 th Grade State Champion.  Middle School The 40 Middle School wrestlers had a successful season as well. They wrapped up the year by finishing in 3 rd place in the NYWA Team State Tournament. Individually, they were led by MN- USA State Champ Vincent Mosher and MN-USA State 3 rd place finisher Sam Hart.  Youth Our youth numbers were up again this past year with 97 kids in the program. Eight wrestlers placed in the MN USA tourney. Cole Edwards, Zach Gabler, Ben Brennan and Connor Schultz each finished in third place. About PLWC The Prior Lake Wrestling Club is proud to be involved in all levels of wrestling in the Prior Lake Area school district from Pre-K through High School. This unique structure has many advantages over a typical sports club such as simplified event planning, coordinated fundraising efforts, continuity of coaching and improved communications. As a result of our efforts, Laker Wrestling is without question the most successful athletic program in the PL-Savage school district and one of the most admired wrestling programs in the state. Our annual $50,000 budget helps pay for equipment, coaching, tourney fees, travel expenses & scholarships.
