Job Description PWM entails managing the wealth of high net worth individuals Richer the individuals, more complexed their financial situation becomes, and that is why many investment banks are hiring MBA’s to handle this business PWM business is highly relationship oriented and, for most firms, very entrepreneurial in nature If you have good interpersonal skills, like people interaction, have passion for the markets and want to pursue a career that provides good work life balance, PWM is the field for you.

Lifestyle Private Wealth Management is typically an eat what you kill business. Workload requirement depends on the firm and the person. Range is anywhere from 55 to 80 hour/ week.

PERSONAL & ORGANIZED NETWORKING: Meet as many PWM professionals as possible Be prepared to fly to NYC for “informational” interviews during Fall A & B Have an idea for “why PWM” when talking with alums, PWM professionals and recruiters

ASKING QUESTIONS Research firm before asking questions Ask relevant questions about PWM business and the firm’s business model Use questions to start differentiating between firms At all times be thoughtful of those around you Don’t hesitate to ask for tips to prepare for the interviews

Other Preparation - Organize Create an official PWM notebook to keep track of professionals you spoke with, points of differentiation between firms, and other relevant issues (business model, etc.) Form a study group of three to four students pursuing PWM career, and help each other to leverage resources within the group
