Introduction 3 tasks of an engineer Henry Ford Lillian Gilbreth 2 Projects 2 Jobs Professor Basily B. Basily

Industrial Engineer: A person who designs, develops, tests, and evaluates integrated systems for managing industrial production processes.

Drafts and designs layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools, and computers. Communicates with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards. Coordinates quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.

Henry Ford introduced mass production to the world. Mass production is a process that increased the speed of making automobiles. Henry also introduced the car company called Ford. Henry Ford was an industrial engineer because he improved daily objects.

Lillian Gilbreth was a mother of modern management. She pioneered industrial management techniques still used today. She was one of the first “Super Women” to combine a career with her home life. She was an industrial psychologist. Through out Lillian Gilbreth’s career she was not only a industrial engineer she was also a mechanical and civil engineer.

TWO-PERSON ZERO-SUM COMMUNICATING PROJECT In this project, two students at Rutgers attempted to improve video games. They tried to make the games have less bugs and have better qualities. MODELING AND SIMULATION OF THE AIR TRAFFIC OVER THE NORTH ATLANTIC OCEAN In this project, two students tried to make different methods for the use of fuel over the north Atlantic ocean. They made simulations for the methods that they thought of for using less fuel.

There are many jobs for an Industrial engineer and here are 2 of them: Design Industrial Plants. Design Factories.

Dr. Basily B. Basily is a research professor in the department of industrial and systems engineering at Rutgers. His research interests are in the areas of stress analysis, elasticity, and plasticity, machine designing and metal forming. One of the things he designed and built was a machine for production of polymer washers by high speed cropping.
