Guessing the plot Movie clips: 1. A sea explorer discovered the wreck of the Titanic. 2. Rose and Jack boarded Titanic. 3. Rose tried to jump off the ship but was stopped by Jack. 4. Jack was accused of stealing the diamond “Heart of the Sea”. 5. The Titanic hit an iceberg. 6. Jack rescued Rose by sacrificing himself. 7. The last time Rose saw her fiancee and she told her story to Brock Lovett over eighty years later.

(4) You are not allowed to show each other you sentence. (5)Each member in the group should take turns and read out their sentence aloud. (6)Then the group should work out the order of events. A film has Setting Characters and Plot

Setting The setting is the time and place where the story takes place. The story of the “ Titanic ” took place in The ship was scheduled to sail across the Atlantic for New York.

Characters They are the people or imaginary figures in the story. They can be good or bad, clever or stupid. The main character is the protagonist. In “ Titanic ”, Jack and Rose are the main characters.

Plot The plot is the events of the story. The characters ’ motives and behavior create the plot.

When you talk about a film, you can think about What type of film it is What do you feel while watching it and What message it conveys.

Here is a checklist of things you might consider when talking about a film: Plot Setting Characters Theme Directing Special effects Camera work Lighting effect Sound and Music
